Fred Fleet's 1932 Hiboy Roadster 'Fleet Special' |
This traditionally styled roadster with it’s distinctive two tone dry lakes paint scheme and tall skinny tires on early Indy wheels is an example of what hot rods were all about in the late ‘40’s and early ‘50’s. Owner Fred Fleet had the crew at the SO-CAL Speed Shop put together what he feel’s a real hot rod ought be, 400 hp small block, 5 speed manual tranny, really loud pipes, no frills and all business. The car is based on a SO-CAL “step boxed” frame”, “New Traditionalist” chassis components and uses an all steel reproduction Brookville body. |
