J.J. Barnhardt's 1934 3-window coupe

J.J. Barnhardt's '34 3-window was originally owned by Eric Chaputa who used to work here at SO-CAL Speed Shop. The car was a funky flat-black hiboy  that was featured on the back of The Rodder's Journal T-shirt.

JJ Barnhardt purchased the car from Eric and asked SO-CAL's Jimmy Shine to rebuild the car with full fenders.

Shine started by installing a new 375 hp 350 Shaver-built Chevy and massaging all the re-pop steel fenders and running boards-quite a task as most of these parts only fit where they touch.

To somewhat emulate the look of  SO-CAL boss man's famed California Kid '34, Jimmy fabricated front and rear nerf bars and had Eric Vaughn punch a pack of louvers in the hood top, sides and Shine-fabbed rear splash apron.

A new coat of Murano red is highlighted with traditional-style striping by Dennis Rickleffs of DR Design, polished ET wheels and a black leather interior by Gabe's Auto Upholstery.
